The shoe dispute has bogged down talks for the waitresses’ first union contract at Foxwoods, a massive property in southeastern Connecticut that is owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. It is among a few key issues set for arbitration between the casino and Local 371 of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, which represents about 365 Foxwoods workers including 200 beverage servers. The casino yielded on a recently imposed requirement for 2-inch heels, but it is insisting that servers wear polishable black shoes, subject to approval by management, according to union representative Keri Hoehne and members. Servers could be exempted with a doctor’s note for up to a year, but would then have to resign or take another position. A Foxwoods spokeswoman, Dale Wolbrink, said she would not comment on labor negotiations that she said should be considered private.
Let's keep this simple. You work in a casino, you live for tips. If anything heels in casinos are WAY too small to begin with. Makes even the young girls working there look like grandmas. Next, what the f*ck are you doing working on a casino floor for 15-20 years?!?! Boy did you life not turn out as expected. No one wants to hear your bitching and complaining about 2" heels hurting your feet. Lucky for them He wasn't a casino owner, girls would be walking around in 6" heels 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Bottom line, someone tell these woman to shut it.
P.S. Forget Foxwoods, but how Vegas doesn't have their girls in bigger heels is mind blowing. Tips would increase 5000% if they went from 2" heels to 4" heels.
